The Laminated Flat Edge provides a chunky square look finish to the edge of your pool or stair treads and is for those who want to get away from the rounded bullnosed appearance.

An extra piece of the same type of tile is glued to the underside of the tile edge to give it double thickness. Next the front face is machined to a perfectly flat finish as the name implies. Finally a small arras is cut along the top and bottom edges to finish it off with soft, safe edges.

The result is contemporary, unobtrusive and easy on the eye.

This profile is becoming increasingly popular with Queensland and northern N.S.W. pool builders who want to offer the most up to date designs to their clients.

The construction of this profile involves bonding a strip of tile (usually of 30 – 90mm height) at right angles onto the floor tile, which we machine with our very popular half bullnosed round edge.

When installing this type of apron coping, it’s important to remember that the apron strip also needs to be fully supported with tile adhesive when being installed to achieve maximum strength and durability of the product.

The Half Bullnose.

This profile is by far the our most sought after edging.

Why?

Simply because it looks good in just about any application that you can think of.

Pool builders and designers love it, it’s perfect for stair nosings, skirting tiles are enhanced by it, it finishes sill tiles to perfection, patio and balcony floors receive a professional look, etc., etc.

And what’s more, it’s the most economical and has the fastest turn around time of all the Stile Edge products.

Another plus for the Half Bullnose is the wide range of tiles that it can be applied to.

Besides all of the fully vitrified tiles, it can also be used on a wide range of glazed ones also.

In fact there are hardly any tiles that this profile cannot be used on.

We get a lot of people asking “what the best profile or type of tile edging?”

We always seem to come back to our number one selling profile, the tried and tested- Half bullnose.

Countless times we have advised people on this type of edging, not just because it’s our most cost effective product but it works on just about any application you can think of.

You can use our half bullnose edging profile on your pool coping , step treads, exposed corners on walls, kitchen bench tops and with the ability to add step tread grooves to this profile it’s versatility is improved even more.

The Half Bulnose tile edging profile is a time tested classic that won’t become outdated with the latest trend or fashion as it’s been around forever and will continue to be here for a long long time to come.

When looking for tile trims to suit Ceramic Bathroom Tiles you have the option of either using a plastic tile trim, aluminum tile trim, metal tile trim or a ceramic edging tile.

There are many pitfalls and advantages related with all of these applications.

So what is the most beneficial tile trim or edging tile for your bathroom wall tiles?

The kind of tile edging or tile trim you use will depend utterly on the type of tile you are using.

When deciding on your ceramic bathroom tiles you will more than likely have to select a different bathroom wall tile to your bathroom floor tile.

The correct application of your edging tile or tile trims will depend on the application and the bathroom tile design that you are working with and what you expect to achieve as a finished result.

With your ceramic bathroom wall tiles the tile trims or tile edging that we suggest you use on any exposed corners, such as nib walls and window sills, is the use of aluminum tile trims or plastic tile trims, which are available in almost all tile shop retailers.

The reason I’m suggesting this type of tile edging for your ceramic bathroom wall tiles has to do with the fact that ceramic wall tiles are typically softer than ceramic floor tiles and are particularly much softer than a porcelain floor tile making them very difficult to put a good quality edging profile on them.

Or…

An alternative choice you could apply could be to mitre the tiles at an angle of 45 degrees.

But only use an extremely high quality wet cutting tile saw for this alternative.

You can obtain tile trims at any regional tile store or ceramic tile merchant and they generally have a variety of color’s to suite the majority of applications, so good luck and happy tiling.
